In 2001, the Habersham County Commissioners passed a resolution and the Habersham County Wall of Honor was formed. A committee made up of veterans and patriots began working diligently to locate property to erect a park in which we could honor the veterans of Habersham County. The late Ken Palmer was the initiator and organizer of this committee. He compiled thousdands of names of Habersham County Veterans before his death. The Habersham County Wall of Honor is for all veterans of Habersham County. The name
Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson Company, graciously donated a tract of land adjoining the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce on which the Veterans Wall of Honor is built. Early in the project, approximately $20,000 was raised for developing the parcel of land so that it is useable for the park.
