As we begin our City Championships this week I hope everyone remembers our HDBA mission statement and approaches the games with a desire to teach, learn and improve not only baseball in Hamilton-Wentworth but also to build sportsmanship and team building amongst our children.
The game is played by children and often also officiated by children and young adults but we do not always keep that in mind when we hit the fields. Please allow the players the opportunity to experience the beauty of the game without the politics and pressures that are often inserted by parents and coaches. Allow the umpires to officiate games without interference or outside pressures from spectators.
