Heleen Verleur is a pianist and composer. She studied classical piano at the Hilversums Conservatorium. Heleen is always looking for the story behind the music:
She makes musical accompaniments for children’s books (Het Engeltje & Het Duiveltje, Sjrek, Heksenboek – auteur Sanne de Bakker). Heleen sets poems to music, including the Spanish ‘Los Mozos de Monleon’ with which she won first prize in Spain in 2013 at Hispa Song International.
She composed her piece ‘Across’ for the famous reed quintet Calefax and won the ‘encore’ competition in 2009.
