Herricks voters have approved the 2023-24 school district budget, with a final result of 836 yes votes and 358 no votes. In addition, Henry R. Zanetti was re-elected to the Board of Education with 863 total votes. James Gounaris was re-elected with 850 total votes.
At the May 4 Herricks Board of Education meeting, 14 Herricks High School Virtual Enterprise students were recognized for advancing to the final round in the Virtual Enterprise National QuickBooks Competition and the National Championship round of the Oral Business Plan Presentation Competition.
Herricks has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Now in its 24th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
