Description: Himatangi Beach is a small village situated on the west coast of the north island of New Zealand. We have approximately 500 permanent residents, and our village is around 45 years young. We are apart of the wider Manawatu.
We have our own micro climate out here at the beach, so never believe the weather reports. It can get wild and windy in the autumn and spring, we can have frosts at the beach in winter. And summer brings endless warm days. You can check out the Horizons webcam.
The ocean can be as flat as a lake or as rough as they get. Keep an eye out for rips. The surf life savers are around during the summer months.
Our beach is a road. Please respect the road rules when driving on the beach and keep an eye out for pedestrians. Always check the sand and creek before driving onto it, we advise 4WD only.
