Hironobu Sato studied originally to become an interior designer. It was during this period that he became interested in photography and decided to pursue his career as a photographer. He soon started assisting some of the most prestigious fashion photographers in Tokyo. 1994年桑沢デザイン研究所入学後、間もなく以前から興味のあった写真の道に進む。同学校中退後、フォトスタジオに入り、アシスタントをしながら写真に関する基本的な技術等を習得する。その後個人アシスタントの経験を経て、2002年独立。デザインやそれら制作活動の中から学んだバランス感覚で、独自の世界観を写真表現で構築する。現在は、広告、雑誌、CDジャケット、TV、映画、演劇、その他、様々な分野で活躍中。また、個人制作も精力的に行っている。
