Description: Ho Etsu Taiko is a premier Taiko ensemble in the Chicago area with a fresh take on the art of Japanese drumming. Ho Etsu often pushes the envelope through collaborations with other taiko groups, musicians, and culturally-focused performance artists while always staying grounded in taiko’s rich traditions.

Most of our pieces are original Ho Etsu compositions. Besides composing, we dedicate many rehearsal hours to music and visual presentation. Our concerts are designed as unique thematic experiences. – see emergent –
Our workshops range from beginner’s taiko to intense apprenticeships. We now offer classes to primary schools that teach students elements of taiko philosophy, discipline, and of course, joy in each and every drum beat!
We perform at festivals, schools, corporate events, weddings and self-produced concerts. We have a passion for sharing taiko and we love to mingle with audience members after shows. – see our portfolio –
