Hornby O Gauge - the archetypal "Old Toy Trains"
From 1920 to 1964, Hornby O Gauge was made in Liverpool by Meccano Limited. These are proper old toy trains. Most are clockwork, all are made of tinplate and they are big chunky toys, 32mm between the rails. They are still available, they still work, they are still huge fun, you can get the parts, and they change hands for prices no higher than a lot of more modern and much smaller trains.
