Market Hall is a regeneration project that has put a much loved building back at the heart of Douglas. Providing new premises for a well established local retailer, Bikestyle , and for the local produce phenomenon, NOA Bakehouse , the Victorian market hall building, has undergone extensive refurbishment and had a thoroughly modern refit.
horncastle:thomas were project architects, working with Brinkworth Design to deliver the refurbishment of the building plus provision of a new structure that contains the service spaces on the ground floor, additional retail space and smaller meeting and consultant rooms on the upper floor. The new elements are clad in Douglas Fir Plywood and sit in clear contrast to the refurbished Victorian windows, ironwork and stone and brickwork.
