Since 2017, Braga is part of a network of 246 cities around the world that put creativity at the center of its social, cultural and economic development. At the time it was designated Creative City of UNESCO in Media Arts, the city assumed a commitment and plan of action for the next four years, which underpin the presence of this artistic field in the city through the creation of dedicated spaces, an Educational Service, a regular Media Arts program, among many other actions. The Art and Technology Biennial INDEX returns to Braga from 9th to 19th May 2024. It forms part of the city’s action plan as a UNESCO Creative City in the field of Media Arts and, this year, is integrated into the programme of the 50th Anniversary Commemorations of the 25th of April. Through the programmatic axes of Performance, Conferences, Exhibition, and Education, the biennial explores the relationship between Art and Technology from a singular point of view.
