Over the last six years, many members have approached the Co-Chairs about changing our name to use the word Indigenous in place of Aboriginal.

The Core Leadership held an in-person meeting in September 2022, where we discussed and agreed to a name change while keeping our scope of work clear by keeping the words national and council in any new name.

In February, a survey was sent to our members to help the Core Leadership select the organization’s new name.
