Inspiration Centre Mathare is a para-church organization that acknowledges the God-given value of every child, youth and the most vulnerable members of our community. Inspiration Centre is located in the sprawling slum of Mathare in Nairobi, Kenya opposite Moi Air-Base on Juja road.
Mathare is a densely populated area with over 500,000 people 60% of this population being children under the age of 18 years. Prostitution, illiteracy, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, and gangs are some of the common challenges facing the community. 95% of the residents in Mathare live on less than 2 dollars per day. Basic needs such as food, shelter, clothes, education, security and health services are hard to come by.
