THE OPTICAL PRESSURE WAVE SWITCH is a safety related obstruction sensing devise that can be used on all automatic door operated systems. Currently mechanical pressure wave switches are being used for door obstruction sensing. These switches are subject to oxidation and other environmental contamination that can reduce the reliability of the switch.
The Optical Pressure Wave Switch is unique in design in that it has no mechanical contacts. Instead, the Optical Pressure Wave Switch uses light beam, a diaphragm and an optic sensor to react when there is an obstruction. This creates greater stability under environmental contamination and therefore, will remain calibrated longer creating longer life.
