In the year 1984, Riyaz and Muina Sadiq decided to open a school in Siliguri. Putting their faith in God and with the belief and support of their family, they put their entire savings together and rented a modest accommodation in Hakimpara, Siliguri. Jermel's Academy was born with seven students on the rolls, one of whom was the founder's son. Today Jermel's Academy stands at its premises at Majhabari in an environment ideally suited for a school. It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education
