We live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which is a unique place. Its heritage has developed over the years through the interaction of the Native Americans, immigrants, and Americans within this unique environment. The names of counties also reflect this heritage. The history of the region is important to understanding the Upper Peninsula and the people who live here. As this site grows we hope to share a little bit of it with you.
