Among Sharon’s recent birthday gifts was an issue of Life magazine from June 1952 (apparently May wasn’t available).
Leafing through the larger-than-life periodical (10 ½ x 14 inches), I was struck by both the dominance and the spin of cigarette ads. If you didn’t know any better, you might conclude, based on these ads, that cigarettes were therapeutic.
