L. Macy Jones has a rich history of establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with Federal, State, and Local resources. She has 30 years of employment working with families in crisis and families with young children.
Previous Next Experience Jones has extensive experience as a proven leader. She currently serves as the director of the Head Start Program in Alexander County managing a $1.8M budget and overseeing 41 employees. In addition She has vast experience in Emergency Management, having served as a Team Lead for NCEM Individual Assistance Outreach, where she was instrumental in working with FEMA to secure over $7M in Federal funding.
Jones is running because it is time for the elected positions in the county to reflect the diversity of this community. It is her hope to help increase the dialogue between the minorities in the community and the Board of Commissioners. She wants to hear what the youth and young adults have to say about Alexander County. Jones is approachable and ready to serve the residents of Alexander County.
