As a filmmaker , Loftin was recently named a “New Director to Watch” by SHOOT Magazine as part of the 2021 New Directors Showcase. Her work has premiered at the OSCAR-qualifying DOC NYC, the BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival (UK), FLICKERS’ Rhode Island, and Shorts on Tap (London), winning awards at film festivals in Berlin, Toronto, Austin, and Bucharest. Loftin’s experimental film work was a recent finalist for the Aesthetica Art Prize 2022.
Her film roles began in the Oscar-winning Monster's Ball , and she has appeared in award-winning independent films that have screened across the globe. With an emphasis on devised/physical theatre adaptations of both new and classical plays, Leah has performed theatrically Off-Broadway, throughout the US, Canada, and Russia.
