Description: These flight nurses were pioneers in the intensive care of patients in flight in Europe, the Pacific, China and Burma, using the C-47, C-46 and C-54's as flying hospitals from battle aid station to inter-theater and inter-continental flights back to the U.S. They flew with skill and courage to all corners of the world, caring for the sick and wounded GI's to bring them home.
