Travels on foot
The Diamond Trail is a trail in the Kansai area that snakes the mountain ranges between Nara, Wakayama and Osaka. I did this over two, non-continuous, days with the first being quite brutal since I wanted end at a point where I can conveniently get off the trail to a station and come back to it easily.
Anticipating the long hike, I took the first train to 二上山駅 (Nijozan Station). While on the train, there was an announcement which I didn’t quite catch about the train cars separating, which got me quite worried should I end up at the wrong station. Some trains in Japan separate along the way, with sets of cars going to different stations. Hikers in the Tokyo area would familiar with the Okutama express train which does just that.
