Lez trained at the Central school of Art and Design graduating in 1984. During his time at Central and immediately upon leaving he worked as a costume prop maker in television and film on projects such as The Last Emperor , Brazil , Dr Who , Young Sherlock Homes , The Far Pavillions , The BBC Shakespeares , The Cleopatras and as a model maker and assistant to designers such as Pamela Howard, Maria Bjornson, Barry Kay, Peter Rice and Ultz .
