With ample Pokéballs in hand, I made my way into the grass to work on catching Abra. Abra is very tricky to capture as his first move is usually Teleport, so one has to use Sleep or Paralyze in order to prevent that escape. There was only one Pokémon to catch along Route 5 and that was Meowth. I made sure to catch two since Persian cannot be caught in the wild. I doubled back to Cerulean City to get one of the Meowths out of Bill’s PC since I wanted to drop it off at the Pokémon daycare I discovered. I didn’t see myself using Meowth effectively in my party, so I figured leveling one up via the daycare would be perfect. As soon as I arrived in Vermilion City I was met with a wave of nostalgia.
