Mircea once had 1 an article on his blog about the concept of a 'turn', likening it to how various individual agents in the film industry, at some point in the lifecycle of a movie / their career, get their 'turn' at the negotiating table, to ask their price 2 . Or likening it to a military general having his 'turn' in a campaign. A window of time in which you, as an individual with agency in a particular environment, can do some meaningful action.
Yesterday, it dawned on my that my turn at doing any meaningful work towards a 'Most Serene Republic of Bitcoin' is most likely over. My window started in 2014 and clearly ended the day MP closed up #trilema back in 2020. The final nail in that window 3 came with his death the next year.
After spending about a year and a half completely away from it all, last November I tuned back into Stanislav's irc channel right as he had released his specification on a p2p communication protocol: PEST. Not too long after several people started releasing their own implementations of his spec. I stood one of these implementations up and currently operate a single PEST station of my own.
