Born in Alaska, Marthanna Yater has had a colorful and well-traveled past, yet has called Durham, NC, home for 30+ years. Her photographic specialties include children’s fine art portraiture and documenting women and children in organic settings. Her degree in Human Development and graduate studies in Early Childhood Education have become the foundation of her artistic career. Her featured work is in Time, Oxford American , Don't Take Pictures and other national and international magazines; The Fence
