The love of crocheting started for me during a summer when I was in Junior High School. I asked my maternal grandmother to teach me. We lived close to, what was then called a "Dime Store" where I purchased a couple Afghan pattern books for 35 cents each, and some yarn. In six weeks I had finished my first afghan and gave it to my grandmother as a gift.
Over the years I have made many, many afghans for our immediate and extended family.
A couple years ago I was feeling that I needed some inspiration and found a site that was asking for volunteers to make afghans/blankets for hospice patients. What better inspiration!! My brother, at the age of 33, made his transition after spending some days in a hospice.
