Since 1999, Ventura County Public Works Agency – Watershed Protection (Watershed Protection) has engaged in a multi-stakeholder effort to remove the obsolete Matilija Dam ( muh-TIL-i-hah)  from Matilija Creek, the Ventura River’s largest tributary.
