I’m a journalist in Nunavut via Ottawa. Originally from the United Arab Emirates, I’m currently a reporter with Nunatsiaq News in Iqaluit, where I write news and feature stories from Inuit communities across Inuit Nunangat.
I’ve covered local, national, and international news for various Canadian publications. In Canada, my work's been featured in CBC North , Windsor Star , Canadian Geographic , Briarpatch magazine , Broadview , LiisBeth magazine , The Pigeon, and several other publications. I’ve also written for international publications including The Guardian , Al Jazeera and The Weather Network .
My journalism is focused on reporting with people and communities least seen but most impacted by the moment, policymaking, our institutions and our systems, and environmental changes, among other things. This work has taken me from Old Crow in the Yukon to Attu off the west coast of Greenland to now Iqaluit and Cambridge Bay in Nunavut.
