Michael I. Schwartzman is an American investor, entrepreneur, and technology visionary with a strong interest in philanthropy and American politics.
His professional interests are in fundamental investment strategies, particularly, value and growth-at-a-reasonable-price strategies and hedging of tail risk (methods of protecting investments against catastrophic losses during severe downturns). His interests also include quantitative methods of investing, investing in start-ups, investing using leveraged ETFs, management practice and theory, and executive compensation.
Schwartzman is the founder (1987) and president of ValueSearch Capital Management , an investment management company in Massachusetts.
