Mineola Main Street Program - since 1989.
In 1989, Mineola was selected by the Texas Historical Commission to participate in a new program designed to help communities revitalize their downtown districts. With much hard work, determined staff and volunteers Mineola became a star in the program and in 2000 was recognized on the national level receiving designation as a National Main Street City by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
