Established in 1956, the Mount Eliza Country Club offers a rich history for members and visitors. Upholding a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the Club is the ideal venue for your next event.
The story goes that a group of local businessmen had been meeting at Sir Edgar Coles’ property, Hendra, on Old Mornington Road since 1952. As the group began to expand over the years, it was deemed necessary to source a property to relocate their social activities.
Thus in 1956, Sir Edgar Coles and Sir Reginald Ansett purchased the current property at 32 Old Mornington Road from the Allfrey family. Due to well-resourced patrons, the gentlemen were able to obtain a unique liquor licence, and the Club, as we know it, was born.
