As the 2024 college baseball season is winding down we highlight several Muskies who have had outstanding springs.
Outfielder Lucas Spence (pictured right), a junior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, is leading the Ohio Valley Conference with a .418 batting average. His 77 hits on the season place him seventh nationally in NCAA Division I. Spence, who hit .373 while playing right field for the Muskies in 2023 is the SIUE Cougars' centerfielder.
Ian Sanders (pictured left), a senior at NCAA Division II Ashland University, is hitting .304 with 4 home runs and 32 RBI for the 20th ranked Eagles. Sanders has been Ashland's primary designated hitter this spring and has started 40 of the Eagles 44 games. He joined the Muskies in 2020 and owns a .306 career batting average with the team.
