Low pressure near the East Coast is pushing a few showers into West Virginia this afternoon. And we’ve seen a few radar returns in Ohio but, with dew points in the 40s and 50s, the air is fairly dry and the rain does not seem to be making to the surface. Most of the state is enjoying sunshine for the Memorial Day holiday.
The East Coast low lingers near the North Carolina coast for much of the week, spreading rain up and down the eastern seaboard. But high pressure also camps in, providing a protective dome for the eastern Great Lakes region, including Ohio. Even as showers and thunderstorms develop across much of the country on Thursday, high pressure helps keep Ohio generally dry.
