The Live Events Industry has historically been an “invisible industry,” meaning that its workforce, impact on local economies and its contributions to local, state, and federal taxes have not been fully recognized or appreciated. The pandemic highlighted this issue, as the industry was severely impacted, and millions of workers, trade unions, and gig workers were negatively affected.
In response, there’s been a growing movement to increase visibility and recognition of the Live Events Industry by advocating for the industry and educating the public and policymakers on its economic and cultural significance. Additionally, the industry is working to improve data collection and analysis, to better demonstrate its impact and contributions.
