Dedicated to the men and women of the Naval Air Development Center (NADC). They won the Cold War and put a man on the Moon. Starting with 25,000 square feet of exhibition space and designed for expansion, the museum will feature the Navy’s state of the art technology paired with science exhibits for kids. The original capsule that was used to train all of the early astronauts like Shepard, Glenn and Armstrong is in danger of collapse. Corrosion has eaten at this gem during more than 50 years of outdoor storage and now threatens to destroy it forever. We cannot let space history be forgotten! This project to provide secure storage for important archives of our nation’s history is vital. It will store film, photos, documents, reports, and other media that chronicle the Cold War era and the race to the Moon.
