Description: NHS Fife provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the population of Fife, some 360,000 people. We believe there is good evidence that art work has a positive effect on wellbeing and health, and we recognise the importance that art plays in creating an environment conducive to good health and wellbeing. Our collection of artwork is intended to be enjoyed by patients, their visitors and staff alike.

ART COLLECTION
NHS Fife owns a wide range of art gifted and purchased over a number of years. A small purchase budget was developed with support from NHS Fife endowment funds and the collection now contains over 600 framed works of art.
A relationship with the Fife Art Exhibition held in Kirkcaldy in October each year has resulted in many works of art being gifted to NHS Fife thanks to the annual Shell prize. NHS Fife endowments have also supported a number of commissions and site-specific works that have been developed in partnership with Fife College and with local schools.
