Description: Old Hallowell Day has taken place on the third Saturday in July since 1968.
In anticipation of Old Hallowell Day 2024 (Saturday, July 20), the Old Hallowell Day Committee is inviting submissions of artwork. The piece of art chosen by the Art Committee will be used for the OHD poster, the OHD t-shirt, and the cover for the OHD program book. The original piece of art will be raffled off by the OHD Committee.
In the past, we have found that the most popular art has bold colors with fairly high contrast. The subjects are often well loved locations around Hallowell or depictions of the Old Hallowell Day celebration. Occasionally, we take a section of the painting for the t-shirts, rather than the entire painting.
All submissions must be sent by email to the Old Hallowell Day Committee at [email protected] by 12 noon on January 1, 2024 . We are looking for an idea and a brief sketch, not a completed painting. The OHD Committee will choose the artist by January 31, 2024.
