Supporting individuals and families affected by Cystic Fibrosis in Pennsylvania and helping fund the search for the cure.
Pennsylvania Cystic Fibrosis, Inc. (PACFI) is an independent, nonprofit, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that provides services, support, and financial assistance to PA individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis (CF) and annual funds some of the nation's most progressive CF research.
CF is the most common fatal genetic disease of children and young adults. It was first described as a separate disease in 1938 by Dr. Dorothy Andersen. CF primarily impacts the lungs and digestive systems by secreting a thick sticky mucus that over time causes chronic lung infections and/or digestive problems.
