"Think about when you meet someone for the first time, you see the surface, but when you spend more time with them, more of their story unfolds. That's me working on my paintings. I put down the general form, but as I work, I discover more about their story, and more about myself.
"My physical tools are usually acrylic and alkyd paint on canvas. The conceptual tools I often call on are surreal storytelling and vujà dé, finding the surprising in the ordinary.
