My approach to design is to first assess the strengths and weaknesses of the place—what is working and what is not. I also establish a clear understanding of the client’s desires. With this in mind, I can use my experience and knowledge of working with the earth, the plants and the flow of chi (or qi) to co-create a beautiful and harmonious garden.
I have been practicing garden design for the past 20 years. My studies have included special classes with top English designers Robin Williams and Lucy Hutchenthen. I have attended numerous design classes through local colleges and nursery associations as well as participated in numerous conferences and horticultural tours including three trips to China.
