Welcome to “PTFA” Welcome to The Peeblesshire Trout Fishing Association Website. We are proud to offer excellent fishing for brown trout and grayling in Scotland, in the very heart of the Scottish Borders. Our Association permit allows fishing on approximately 23 miles of the River Tweed and 5 miles of the Lyne Water in the Peeblesshire area of Scotland with the exception of private stretches which are clearly marked with notice boards.

The trout season extends from 1st of April until the 30th of September. Fishing is by fly only throughout the season. Anglers under 18 years of age may fish free of charge but only if they possess a valid free permit available from the outlets detailed in this website.

Please note that the Peeblesshire Trout Fishing Association now operates a strict catch and release policy for wild trout and grayling and anglers are requested to use barbless hooks and safely release all fish caught.
