The Pre-School was first based at St Pauls Church, then moved to Newtown Community Centre and has now been based at Newtown Methodist Church since 2000. In 1993 the founder of the Pre-School recognised that in this area of the town there was nowhere for children to play together, and this was the reason the Pre-School was established. All of our Early Years Professionals have been handpicked to suit the needs of the Pre-School, children and families. We continue to train our staff so that they have the most current knowledge in Early Years Care, Learning and Education. The staff are trained to pick “teachable” moments throughout the day, linking in with the child’s interests. This method of teaching is proven to be more effective for the child.
We work together alongside the parents/carers. We like to think that we are an extension to the child’s family. The child’s voice is paramount to us! We encourage to develop confident, positive, independent and social children to give them the foundations to who they may become in the future. We aim to develop children to become inquisitive in learning about the world around them and a sense of excitement to learn new things.
