Garland Dancers
PENNYROYAL GARLAND DANCERS are a group of enthusiastic folk dancers based in north- west Leicestershire. We currently perform two main styles of dance, GARLAND and CLOG dances. As there is not really a traditional folk costume in England (unlike the national dress in Scotland and Wales) we have developed our own outfit of a red blouse and a blue pinafore dress. For garland dancing we wear red tap shoes. Many traditional dancers wear bells but PENNYROYAL think the sound of our feet (emphasised by the tap
