Peter Scicluna Astronomy
I’m a postdoctoral research fellow working for the European Southern Observatory in Chile. My research focuses on the lifecycle of astrophysical dust, particularly its role in the chemical enrichment of our Galaxy. I try to explain observations across the electromagnetic spectrum by creating physical models that reproduce their behaviour. I make extensive use of Bayesian inference and machine learning in this process.
In addition, I support observations with the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) from Paranal Observatory.
