The official languages of Belarus are Belarusian and Russian (but it seems Russian is more common in larger cities, due to Soviet influence) and the so-called trasianka, a mix of Belrusian and Russian (a similar phenomenon exists in Ukraine, a Ukrainian–Russian language mixture, called surzhyk).
