We are closing the gap between ocean conservation and aquatic animal welfare through collaborating and mutually supporting each other’s work.
Every year, 100 billion aquatic animals are farmed and another 2-3 trillion are caught at sea. Furthermore, up to half of all wild-caught fish are used as feed for farmed fish. Various organizations are working diligently to stop overfishing, bycatch, illegal fishing and other destructive practices. Yet, advocates between ocean conservation and animal welfare rarely speak to one another.
