The Museum’s photographic collection, which forms part of the Museum Archives, comprises thousands of items of photographic material including prints, albums, slides and glass plate negatives. These materials provide an intriguing and wide-ranging record of REME activities down the years, from the formality of course photos to the evocative shots of life in the field taken by amateur Corps photographers.
The images made available on our website originate from the photograph albums in the collection, the bulk of which were donated, and a number of which were compiled by the museum in the 1960s-1970s. These albums were digitised as part of a joint project by http://www.maxcommunications.co.uk and the REME Museum. The photographs currently available represent only a small portion of the images from the albums. We will continue to add images to the site regularly.
