The touch of the most famous architect in Torino: Filippo JUVARRA.
Born in Messina in 1678, Filippo Juvarra is probably the most famous engineer and architect of Turin (together with Antonelli). He was called to the royal court by Vittorio Amedeo II in 1714 and appointed premier architect of the Royal House. As such Juvarra gave Turin a full make over. His works include the facade of Palazzo Madama, the royal Stupinigi villa, the Basilica di Superga, the chiesa del Carmine (church), the chiesa di San Filippo, and numerous other private residences. He died in Madrid in 1736
