The RNVR Yacht Club was formed in 1947 by officers of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve for racing Fireflies against other clubs. We now welcome members from all the armed forces together with a limited number of civilians. We are predominantly a cruising club with over 400 members who own between them around 200 yachts, many of which are based on the south coast of England.
We have 9 sailing and 7 social events in our 2023 programme, all well organised and varied to offer something for everyone. In addition, we have a number of ad hoc day sails in the Solent, open to all members, to join experienced skippers on board for a refreshing day out usually including lunch at a pub. This year, our charter rally is in Greece and our inland waterways cruise is on the Thames.
