My inherent nature is careful and considered, so the works I make have a controlled organisation to them, however I am equally fascinated by the aspects of the processes that are completely spontaneous and unplanned - for instance the reverse side of embroidered work, the collected strips of paper used to mask the edges of my paintings, or the built up drips of colour left as a residue on the sides of my water pot.
These things delight me and are as much of an artwork to me as the finished piece itself.
