I am a Landscape Painter living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I paint from life, much the same as the French Impressionists and other landscape painters, setting up my easel and painting the story as I see it. I think a painting is like a book or a song- The landscape around us has stories to tell if we only pay attention and look. I find inspiration everywhere; a creek that the light hits it just so, the water winding around rocks, maybe a tree along the bank or a field that intrigues me in its design.
For the last few years I have been devoting a lot of my painting efforts along Minnehaha Creek . It is very close to home and offers unlimited scenes as it winds throughout the city. I am a huge fan of Stapelton Kearns and East coast landscape painters Aldro Hibbard, Willard Metcalf and Emile Gruppe, William Merritt Chase and so many others. My favorite of all is Peder Mork Monstad a Danish master. Truly incredible work! I also have spent several years painting with Robert Bonawitz, who studied with the Great Richar
